New names for Star Tour, Fritidsresor and Finnmatkat

Fritidsresor, Sweden, Star Tour, Norway, Star Tour Denmark and Finnmatkat, Finland, are on track to get new names.

TUI Nordic / Fritidsresor Group
TUI Nordic / Fritidsresor Group is with a market share of 20 percent, the biggest player in the Nordic travel market.

Maybe TEMA, Nazar and Wonder Cruises also change its name.
All companies are included in the German travel group TUI Group, which has decided that all subsidiaries worldwide must have the same name and the same common identity.

In fact, TUI now has a common identity in the form of the TUI smile.

“During the fall we will make a plan for when to change names in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Sweden, and determine what the new name should be. It is not yet decided.

Only that TUI must be the overriding name. Whether it is TUI Travel Denmark, Sweden TUI, TUI Smile or something else is not yet determined, “says Mathias Bergendahl, Nordic Information Manager, TUI / Fritidsresegruppen, Stockholm to TTO Scandinavia.

“Star Tour, Fritidsresor and Finnmatkat are very strong brands, so a name change is not something we take lightly. Therefore, it must be done properly. TUI will change the names to have an enhanced brand, which can offer more travel and other services in the future.

Already today there is some confusion when a customer buys a journey by Star Tour in Denmark, boarding an aircraft from TUIfly Nordic in Billund, meet a TUI bus in Malaga, and take off for a Blue Village hotel. It will be easier with only one through-name.

TUI companies in the Netherlands and Belgium are in the process of a name change. We have had meetings to learn from their experience.

We have no deadline for the plan beyond that is due to be ready in the autumn. When there will come a name change in the North is not yet determined. It could be in 2016 or 2017, and we also need to decide whether the names TEMA, Nazar and Wonder Cruises must be changed.

When we have changed the names, the names will be rebranded over the Nordic countries, ” Mathias Bergendahl says.

Europe

“In the framework of creating unified international branding for TUI, the Group is planning to roll out its concept stores to more than 120 travel agencies throughout Europe. Moreover, nearly all of the around 450 TUI-owned travel agencies in Germany are to be converted into concept stores. For the time being, customers have an opportunity to experience the innovative store concept in 13 TUI Stores in Germany, including stores in Stuttgart, Düsseldorf, Berlin, and Hamburg. In Switzerland, the first TUI Store was opened in Zurich last week,” says TUI Group, Germany.

“Our TUI Stores are very well received by our customers,” said Erik Friemuth, Chief Marketing Officer of the TUI Group. “Internationalizing the concept is therefore a consistent move and a further pillar of our strategy of building TUI as a unified, strong brand in Europe – not just online, but also offline in our retail stores.”
