SAS to be Switching Alliance: From Star Alliance to SkyTeam

On September 1, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) will transition to the SkyTeam airline alliance, departing from the Star Alliance on August 31.

SAS EuroBonus members can anticipate similar loyalty perks with the majority of SkyTeam’s airlines as SAS engages in discussions with SkyTeam and its members to foster extensive commercial partnerships.

This new alliance will grant SAS customers access to 19 additional airlines and over 1,060 destinations worldwide, while retaining Star Alliance benefits until August 31. Notable North American carriers in the SkyTeam alliance include Delta and Aeromexico, with European counterparts such as Air France, KLM, Virgin Atlantic, ITA Airways, and Czech Airlines. Asian members include Korean Air and Chinese carriers like Xiamen Air, China Airlines, and China Eastern Airlines.
