Scammers target Singapore Airlines’ customers again

Singapore Airlines is warning customers to be wary of emails and phone calls informing them they have won free tickets or been entered into a prize draw to win flights.

The airline says scammers are using the tactic to gather their customers’ personal data.

“We advise customers to exercise discretion when revealing personal data to unverified sources. Recipients should verify such e-mails and phone calls if they have any doubts, as well as lodge a police report,” SIA wrote in a Facebook post.

It is the latest in a long list of scams targeting the airline’s customers.

Last December, customers were asked to fill out a customer service survey purportedly from the airline. A link then directed them to a fake Singapore Airlines’ website where personal data and bank account details were requested.

Various other similar scams have popped up on Facebook and WhatsApp in recent months.
