British Airways has suspended sales of tickets for short-haul flights departing Heathrow this week.

It will impact BA’s flights within the UK and to European destinations until 8 August.

It is due to the daily cap on passenger numbers imposed by Heathrow this summer.

Short staffing has led to flight disruption for weeks.

Thousands of air travellers have been hit by disruption in recent weeks, including last-minute cancellations.

The daily cap on passenger numbers is set to continue for another month.

“We’ve decided to take responsible action and limit the available fares on some Heathrow services to help maximise rebooking options,” BA said
