Business Returns Proven at IT&CMA

In a procurement survey conducted by IT&CM Asia based on the business generated at IT&CMA 2016, 70% of buyers have made purchases with exhibitors within 6 months of the event. .
At an estimated US$241.4million worth of business made at IT&CMA 2016, the tradeshow is proof of the exponential results of bringing together a qualified and experienced delegation in one marketplace. Products and services acquired ranged from accommodation, conference and meeting consultancy, ground handling and transport arrangements, incentive trips, and start-to-end exhibition services, among others. As the 2017 edition draws near and the show celebrates its 25th anniversary, organisers expect an even bigger showing this September 26 to 28 in Bangkok, already reporting ! a stellar exhibitor turnout with heavier engagement pre- and post-show.

More exhibitors are creating experiences to win buyers over and increase procurement propensity for their destinations and organisations.

On top of Osaka’s post-event FAM trip in December 2017 for select buyers, Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park will play venue host to a networking reception for Thai industry players in July and sponsor a pre-show retreat for the CTW Asia-Pacific Advisory Board to connect before the show. NTOs like Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) are planning pre- and post-show tours for IT&CMA and CTW Asia-Pacific delegates to explore Thai culture and the country’s capabilities. Tourism Promotion Board Philippines (TPB) will not only increase their space by 30% this year by presenting more MICE offerings from private sector co-exhibitors but al! so organise another post-show FAM trip to sunny Cebu and Boracay after IT&CMA 2017.

IT&CMA’s consistent delivery of quality buyers has driven increased demand for exhibition space. Exhibiting NTOs and CVBs have reported requests from their private sectors for more slots under national pavilions. Taiwan pavilion has expanded by 100%, Macao expects more than 30 private sector co-exhibitors, one of its largest contingents ever, while Chiangmai and Lanna have come together to commit a whopping 200sqm. They join Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), Dubai Business Events, Korea Tourism Organisation, Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), Osaka Convention and Tourism Bureau, Sapporo Convention Bureau, Tourism Promotion Board Philippines (TPB), and many more, in this year’s excellent showing. 2016’s strong showcase of cruise companies continues to roll over on to 2017 with confirmed participation from these international corporations returning Worldwide Cruise Associates, Royal Caribbean International, and newcomers Silversea Cruises. Buyer registrations for IT&CMA and CTW Asia-Pacific 2017 are underway with more than 300 sign ups so far. Earlier batches of validated and approved quality buyers are also due to receive their formal hosting invitations to the show. Each year, close to 1000 buyer applicants are received, of which only a select 50% are offered full hosting privileges, making these coveted spots much sought after and ensuring only the best turnout. These buyers come from all over the World, from countries such as Australia, Belgium, Cambodia, China PR, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Israel, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, USA and so many more – all with the intent to do serious business with Asia-Pacific and the World.
