NCL with luxury

When the Norwegian Prima enters service as the first of six vessels in Norwegian Cruise Line’s (NCL) first new ship class in almost a decade, it will debut many new-to-brand features, such as a food hall, a boulevard that wraps around the entire ship and more outdoor deck space than any of NCL’s previous vessels.

It will also be the line’s most luxury-focused ship to date.

The 3,215-passenger Prima’s Haven by Norwegian, the line’s ship-within-a-ship concept of upscale accommodations and private amenities, will span seven decks, making it the largest such area on any Norwegian ship.

For the first time, the Haven will be built on the ship’s aft, with a design that chief sales officer Katina Athanasiou said will give the Haven’s 107 suites and public spaces “more openness to the sea than ever before, creating a connection between outdoor and indoor.”

While NCL’s other Haven complexes have an indoor pool and interior courtyard surrounded by corridors, the Haven Courtyard on the Prima will become the Haven Sundeck, with an infinity pool atop the complex along with an outdoor spa that has a glass-walled sauna and cold room. The Haven will also have a private lounge and restaurant.

And upscale amenities will not only be found in the Haven. The Prima will have the most variety of suite categories available at sea with 13, including the largest three-bedroom suites of any new cruise ship, Norwegian said.
