New tailormade Hotel concept

Explorar Hotels & Resortsa the new concept from Hong Kong based The Pavilions Hotels will debut later this year, is tailored towards the needs of millennial travellers.

Inspired by exploration

The Explorar brand takes its name from the Spanish translation of ‘to explore’, and is inspired by the exploits of one of the first great explorers, Christopher Columbus, who ventured to new lands in the 15th century. Each hotel and resort within this collection promises to embody a vibrant energy, along with a social space to eat, drink, meet and share stories known as The Exchange instead of a traditional lobby.

Overall, the brand will focus on engaging guests socially, while also interacting with people around the world through the Explorar website and social media accounts.

Every scheme will have a small team of local experts who can provide insight into the locale, all while providing an uncomplicated hotel experience. Offering a comfortable and fun base to truly experience a destination, these properties will be aimed principally at millennial travellers.

Thai island hideaway

It’s expected that Explorar will make its debut in southern Thailand in October 2021. Following the completion of an extensive upgrade to an existing property, the 24-key Explorar Pawapi Koh Mook will accommodate guests on a stretch of private sandy beach on the peninsula of the secluded island of Koh Mook.

Here, guests will be able to make the most of abundant activities in the resort, as well as embark upon adventurous excursions in the surrounding area. Thai spa treatments will be offered at spa salas dotted throughout the landscape and the lobby will become an exchange of knowledge, with its Wall of Discovery allowing anyone to share memories and pass on their tips.

The island of Koh Mook is situated between Trang and Krabi. While staying here, guests will be able to enjoy panoramic views over the Andaman Sea and easy access to celebrated sites like Emerald Cave, or take part in exciting activities like scuba diving and dugong observation.

This Explorer opening will be followed by additional developments in Asia and Europe across four themes: beach, eco, cultural and urban.
