No TUR fair in Gothenburg next year, but Oslo comes with a new consept

There will be no travel fair in Gothenburg next year, neither a consumer trade show or trade fair Scandinavian International Travel Meet.

TUR becomes a every second year project and there will be a consumer trade show in 2017 in Stockholm, with a new concept.

A Trade Convention which premiered in conjunction with luck this year, will however be held next year in March in Gothenburg.

The new Scandinavian International Travel Meet SITM focused on business meetings between buyers and sellers and held for one day, Thursday. In parallel, there was a business community in cooperation with SBTA (Swedish Business Travel Association) Thursday.

Farhad Kakavand, manager of TUR:
– A general travel trade show with big booths no longer works. Exhibitors do not have the same budget, and consumers have other demands. We need time to develop the product concept for a new kind of travel fair in 2017. The Scandinavian tourism and travel industry is well established very close relationships and in certain segments in the B2B is not the need to meet every year.

OSLO takes over from Gothenburg

Great interest in Norway’s largest B2B workshop Travel Match.

Heading for its 5th edition in January 2016, is still busy Match a popular venue for providers of destinations and products related to outbound travel from Scandinavia.

Many of the sellers at this event are regulars who have participated several times, someone actually at all events, which proves that the concept is useful and viable.

Travel Match 2016 takes place this time on a Friday, specifically on January 15, and is added to Telenor Arena. The reason is a collaboration between several actors and events in the industry about the concept of Great Tourism Day, and the main aim is to increase the participation of Scandinavian buyers.

“We believe that the changes associated with the Travel Match 2016 will benefit all stakeholders to good, and are already seeing a clear positive response to this,” says Project Manager for Travel Match, Arne Sundt-Bjerck.

The bulk consists primarily of incoming agents / DMC’s, national and regional tourist offices and airlines. However, participating also some hotel chains, cruise lines, single destinations, special hotels and resorts and other actors.

“Already now it seems that all continents will be represented, possibly with the exception of Oceania,” says project manager Arne Sundt-Bjerck. “We are obviously delighted by the confidence participants shows us, and see the large number of repeaters as a sign that participation produces results.”

For the upcoming edition of the Travel Match a number of changes, primarily with a view to making the event the most useful and appropriate for buyers who are invited to participate. Localization to Telenor Arena on Friday is primarily to make participation easier for buyers. With this solution, they need not choose between the Travel Match in the center on Thursday or Reiselivsmessen at Telenor Arena on Friday. Now you can have both at the same place and the same day. TravelMate Match at noon and tourism fair for the industry after lunch.
