Crew also pax

Understanding the role of crew as ambassadors for the destination, Skagen arranges complimentary sightseeing bicycles for crew members. In addition the Seaman’s Mission offers free transport from the pier to the Swedish Seaman’s Church, where crew members can use free WiFi, coffee and complimentary bibles.

There is also free WiFi at the pier and the crew may use the shuttle service free of charge. The Museum of Local History offers free entrance and some shops offer a 10% discount.

“We are always doing our utmost to give the cruise guests the very best of Skagen, but the ships’ crews are also very important to us. By visiting Skagen again and again – in many cases fortunately – the crew members play a very important part in creating a good guest experience. They are offering advice to the cruise guests on what to do and see and by getting to know our destination they become our Skagen Ambassadors aboard the cruiseships,” explained Anne Sofie Ronne Jensen, cruise manager, Cruise Skagen.

On September 29, Saga Sapphire made the final call of the season, bringing the total number of passengers this year to more than 66,000 guests which is a new record. The percentage going ashore was 90.8 which also is the highest so far in Skagen, according to Willy Hansen, chief executive officer Port of Skagen.
