Two officers from the West Midlands force will patrol alongside the Guardia Civil in Magaluf, on the island of Mallorca and San Antonia on Ibiza to assist in investigations where British holidaymakers are either offenders or victims.

Both resorts tend to attract young British holidaymakers, and in 2011 – 2012, some 500 Brits were arrested on Mallorca and Ibiza combined. Most were arrested were for drunken behaviour such as fighting or criminal damage, as well as drug-related crime.

The officers will be in full British uniform and will begin patrols on Monday, spending the first week in Magaluf before they then head to San Antonio for another week in a trial operation.
